As the preparations for the Fall season gets under way, MUFC teams  are having success in various preseason tournaments.  The girls 93 Navy and boys 96 Navy highlight the first weekend of tournaments, winning their respective brackets.   

The 93 Navy ladies finished the Twin City Classic with 3 wins and 1 loss in their 5-team, round-robin bracket.  They scored 8 goals in 4 games, while yielding just on their way to a first place finish over teams from Winston-Salem and Greensboro.  Meanwhile, the boys 96 Navy scored early and often all weekend in the same tournament, scoring 25 goals in 4 games, including a 7-3 win in the finals on Sunday over a tough Triangle United team.

Also having success the weekend of Aug 16th were the MUFC 90 White and 92 White ladies teams in the Charlotte Invitational.  These two teams went a combined 3-0-1 on the first day of the tournament with neither team yeilding a score.  Day 2 of the event was washed out for these two teams but it didn’t dampen their optimism for the upcoming season.
